Established in 1994 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, C-RS has over 1,700 members worldwide. John Righetti has been its president and spokesman since its inception. The group's flagship publication is ''The New Rusyn Times''. From 1998 until 2007, C-RS and The Andy Warhol Museum presented an annual festival celebrating Rusyn culture alongside the art of Andy Warhol, one of the most influential 20th-century American artists, who was of Carpatho-Rusyn descent.
